Adaptable Capabilities
Hydro Excavation is a method used for digging and moving soil without the need for heavy equipment. It can greatly reduce some of the risks and costs that are brought about by traditional digging methods especially around buried or delicate utilities. Highly pressurized water is used along with vacuum to complete the hydro excavation process. Because the water is very highly pressurized it can dig the soil with high accuracy and efficiency, the use of a vacuum truck that will transfer the soil and water mixture or “slurry” to a debris tank for transportation and site removal.
Hydro excavation examples;
Potholing/Daylighting; Potholing or daylighting is the process of digging a test hole to expose underground facilities.
Slot Trenching; The purpose of slot trenching is to dig narrow trenches. This is commonly needed for installing pipes, cables, signs, posts, and other utilities underground.
Debris Removal; Debris removal is the process of hauling away landscaping
and construction debris.
Exposing Utilities; Hydro excavation makes use of water to soften and break up the soil that is being removed. This lessens the risk of damage to the buried utilities that sometimes happens when a manual excavation method is used.
Piling Hole Excavation; Hydro excavation can do the job of piling holes’ excavation in a more accurate and faster manner.
Cold Weather Digging; Cold weather digging is traditionally a process that causes a lot of pollution. Hydro excavation reduces this problem.
Remote Digging; Hydro excavation can eliminate the problems involved in digging in remote areas where heavy equipment is not possible.
