Sonar inspection is a technology that uses an acoustic beam to profile the pipe interior in water-filled pipes or siphons, without the need to bypass large diameter lines. It is an inspection technology used to calculate sediment or debris in a line and determine capacity loss, detect anomalies below the waterline. Sonar equipment can be floated, tractor mounted, or skid mounted to determine the condition of a pipe. It can be combined with a simultaneous CCTV inspection, when combined on one screen it is multi-sensor and referred to as TISCIT (Totally Integrated Sonar CCTV Inspection Technique) the equipment is mounted in an all-terrain vehicle for easement capabilities.
